About Us
Saturn Home Solutions was named after our daughter, Cassini, inspired by the Italian astronomer Giovanni Cassini and his lifelong work studying Saturn.
The connection goes even deeper — Saturn was the Roman god associated with lead, and the Latin word for lead is plumbum, the origin of the word plumbing.
For us, Saturn represents curiosity, engineering, craftsmanship and problem solving — the values that our company is built around.
Saturn Home Solutions was founded by Nick and Niamh, a husband and wife team who have spent their working lives building practical skills, technical knowledge and experience in industries where getting things right really matters.
Nick has over 15 years of experience in commercial building maintenance and refurbishment, alongside 12 years as a qualified plumber. Throughout his career, he has worked across a wide range of industries and environments, including Nissan, Care UK, robotics and commercial refurbishment projects.
From an early age, engineering and problem solving have always been part of Nick's life. Growing up with an electronic engineer as a father meant that building circuits, understanding how things worked and finding solutions became second nature.
That foundation developed into a career built around plumbing, property maintenance, refurbishment and improving homes. Alongside his trade experience, Nick also holds an 18th Edition electrical safety qualification and has developed a reputation for being particular about the quality of his work. Every project is approached with care, attention to detail and a determination to deliver the best possible result.
Niamh started her career at 16, working in the power industry, and has since spent over 20 years working in industries where safety, responsibility and getting things right really matter. During her career she has worked on large-scale projects, managed shutdowns, coordinated people and contractors, and taken on roles where organisation, attention to detail and finding solutions were essential.
Over the years, Niamh has also gained qualifications in project management, health and safety and training. She brings a wealth of experience in planning, coordination, communication and making sure that work is carried out properly and safely.
That experience is now at the heart of Saturn Home Solutions. Between us, we bring together practical trade skills, project management experience, technical understanding and a genuine passion for solving problems.

Based in Hartlepool, we work with homeowners and property clients across the surrounding North East, covering approximately a 30-mile radius for suitable projects.

Victorian Double Bay Window Restoration
A restoration project close to home — our own 120-year-old Victorian double bay window.
We lovingly restored the original timber bay, carefully stripping away years of paint and removing damaged and broken trim from across the front of the structure. Where timber had deteriorated, the affected sections were removed and replaced with new timber, retaining the original character and detailing of the bay wherever possible.
Trade-grade external wood filler was then used to repair and smooth the timberwork, creating a clean surface ready for finishing. Once the timber had been fully stripped, repaired and prepared, we removed the old window sealant and carefully prepared the frames for painting.
The final stage was applying the new finish and installing colour-matched external silicone around the timber and window frames. This completed the restoration and helped the newly finished timberwork stand out against the original brickwork.
A lot of preparation, repair and attention to detail went into bringing this beautiful Victorian feature back to life.
